Live at Hill Station Café, London

Alice Boyd performs as part of Mercury Over Maps #25, an evening of improvised and experimental music at Hill Station Café in South East London.

The night brings together three sets from leading voices across the UK and European experimental scene. A trio of Dominic Lash, Colin Webster and Bill Thompson opens the evening with a dynamic exploration of free improvisation, followed by a duo between Julia Brüssel (violin and electronics) and Tom Ward (bass clarinet and flute), whose work moves fluidly between acoustic and electronic sound worlds.

Alice Boyd performed a solo set, weaving together voice, field recordings and ambient textures. Her performance draws on her ongoing work exploring the changing soundscapes of the natural world, blending environmental sound with live processing and improvisation.

Hosted by Hill Station Café, Mercury Over Maps is an ongoing series dedicated to experimental and improvised music in an intimate setting.
