Lisbon, Portugal • Alice Boyd & Rachel Kitchlew support Yann Tiersen • European Tour

  • Sagres Campo Pequeno Lisbon Portugal (map)

This November, Alice Boyd and Rachel Kitchlew support composer Yann Tiersen for select dates on his European tour.

Alice Boyd and Rachel Kitchlew are South London-based artists whose collaboration brings together harp, field recordings, synth and voice to create immersive, environmentally themed performances. Their live set combines original songs from both artists with new compositions, weaving in layered textures of harp and electronics alongside Alice’s field recordings of nightingales, underwater soundscapes and more. The result moves between folk, ambient and experimental sound, inviting audiences to listen more deeply to the natural world.

Alice is a musician, sound artist and audio producer whose work explores our connection with the natural world. She has performed everywhere from mountainsides and ancient woodlands, to venues such as Kings Place, the Barbican Conservatory and the Eden Project’s Rainforest Biome, where she was artist-in-residence. Her music has been featured across BBC Radio 3, 4 & 6 and in DJ Mag, TOAST Magazine and KLOF Mag, and she has collaborated with organisations such as the BBC, the RSPB, Kew’s Wakehurst and the Wellcome Collection.

Rachel is a contemporary harpist and composer blending jazz, ambient and experimental influences into looping-based works that create rich, layered textures. Her music has been featured on FIP, BBC Radio 3, Jazz FM, Worldwide FM and Soho Radio, with collaborations including Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) and Vegyn, and performances spanning Glastonbury, the Barbican and the Montreal Jazz Festival.

Together, Alice and Rachel craft expansive soundscapes that connect acoustic and electronic worlds that celebrate both human creativity and the hidden voices of the natural world.
